Compensatory allowance for land in less-favoured areas (AGZ)
Performance specification
The objective of the support is to maintain agricultural land use in disadvantaged areas for significant natural reasons. Keeping these agricultural areas open contributes to the preservation of a diverse cultural landscape typical of Hessen. This is also intended to have favourable effects on biodiversity and on climate and environmental protection. This applies in particular to the grassland sites in the low mountain ranges that characterise the landscape and are less suitable for intensive use.
The purpose of the funding is to partially or fully compensate for income losses and additional expenses for farms operating in the less-favoured areas. The focus is on support for grassland and forage-based farming practices.
