Local and district farmers
Performance specification
The district committee is supported in the fulfilment of its tasks by the local and district farmers. These participate in particular in matters of agricultural and market structure, landscape management and land transactions by advising, giving opinions and providing information. The chairing member of the regional agricultural committee (GAA) is also the district farmer. The deputy district farmer is appointed by the GAA.
In all municipalities, local farmers and their deputies are appointed by the GAA for six years. Clearly defined regulations apply to the appointment, which are listed in § 6 BMitwG.
