Special projects with regional linkage
Performance specification
The aim is to strengthen the regional structures in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district and thus create added value equally for the inhabitants and the local economic actors related to agriculture. In particular, local value creation is to be promoted through the establishment of regional value chains. In doing so, particular attention must be paid to consumer interests, environmental protection and animal welfare.
The special projects currently include the promotion of meat-processing craft enterprises with predominantly regional meat supplies in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district. This is intended to promote both the regional processing of animal products to strengthen local value chains and animal welfare through short transport routes to the slaughterhouse.
Further projects will be announced after a decision has been made by the responsible bodies and will be monitored by the agricultural department. The development of regional funding procedures depends to a large extent on the political will as the elected representatives of the population's interests.
