Application for a state grant from the special investment programme Sportland Hessen "Refurbishment/Modernisation/Expansion".

  • Performance specification

    Owners of existing sports facilities who are planning to renovate, modernise or expand their sports facilities can apply to the Hessian Ministry of the Interior and Sport (HMdIS) for a state grant.

  • Process flow

    The application must be submitted in writing to the Hessian Ministry of the Interior and Sport. The application documents must be submitted via the Landkreis - Fachdienst Sport und Jugendarbeit. The complete documents (see below) will then be forwarded to the Ministry together with the comments of the district and the sports district.

  • Requirements

    The recipient of funding is the respective provider/owner of the existing sports facility, i.e. sports clubs, sports associations and municipal providers. Sports facilities owned by private commercial sponsors are not eligible for funding.

  • Which documents are required?

    1. Informal application for the granting of a state allowance
    2. Explanatory report (use of the sports facility, needs) as well as construction-related description of the planned renovation measure
    3. Positive statements by the district/city/municipality and the sports district on the urgency of the measure with a promise of financial participation by the funding bodies.

    5. Cost estimate including planned personal contributions according to maximum rates

    6. Construction plans and construction schedule (if required)
    7. Building authority approval (if required)
    8. The measure may only be started after receipt of the notice of approval.
      Construction projects that have been started prematurely are excluded from any funding. It is essential to note that the awarding of a contract is equivalent to the start of construction.
    9. Proof of ownership
      - Land register extract

    - Leasehold contract or lease agreement (minimum term 25 years from application)

    1. Certificate of non-profit status
    2. Explanation of any entitlement to deduct input tax or lack of such entitlement
    3. Proof of secured overall financing/financing plan:
      - Own funds/loans (bank confirmation - no bank statement)
      - List of own contributions (according to maximum rates)
      - External funds through funding commitments (district, city/municipality, LSBH, others)
    4. Complete association account data on association header sheet, naming of the measure and signature - the IBAN (International Bank Account Number) and the BIC (Bank Identifier Code) are mandatory for accounting reasons.
