Municipal Disability Officer

In order to strengthen the representation of the interests of persons with disabilities, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg has appointed a full-time Municipal Disability Officer. The Municipal Disability Officer and her deputy are contact persons with a signposting function for people with disabilities and their relatives in the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg. They provide information, direct people seeking advice and assistance to the appropriate office and work to promote inclusion in the district.

 

The Municipal Disability Officer...

  • ...raises awareness and advises the administration and political bodies on the concerns of people with disabilities
  • ...cooperates with associations of persons affected, institutions, organisations and self-help groups and municipal representatives for persons with disabilities
  • ...raises public awareness of the concerns of people with disabilities and provides information about inclusion
  • ...shows people with disabilities the way to offices and advice centres
  • ...provides information for people with disabilities and their relatives
  • ...acts as a contact point to the cities and municipalities, especially to the local disability representatives
