Information for consumers
If, as a consumer, you have any doubts in specific situations (e.g. in a food shop, at a street festival or in a restaurant) as to whether hygiene standards are being met, or if you experience health problems after eating a particular food, you can contact the food safety authority. In accordance with Section 40(1a) of the German Food and Feed Code (LFGB), which requires transparent information to be provided to consumers, any breaches of the Code are made public. The publications for the Waldeck-Frankenberg district can be found on the State of Hesse’s platform below.
Platform for the publication of infringements
The platform for the publication of violations of food law is an offer of the State of Hesse for the competent municipal food monitoring authorities of the districts and independent cities.
