District honours 21 graduates

This year, 21 graduates from the district were honoured for successfully completing their vocational training, further education and degree courses. A small ceremony was held to mark the occasion at the Enzian restaurant in Korbach.

There is a wide range of opportunities for staff at the Waldeck-Frankenberg District Authority, and these are not limited to purely administrative tasks. For example, specialists are also employed in IT and civil engineering, most of whom were trained directly within the district administration or completed their degree studies there. This year, 21 graduates successfully completed their training, further education or degree courses.

Six administrative assistants, one IT specialist and one IT specialist have completed their training. Three junior staff members have obtained a part-time qualification as administrative assistants, whilst three others have successfully completed further training to become administrative specialists. In addition, there are four junior staff members studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and one studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Administration, who still have their oral examinations to take, as well as one studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and one studying for a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering.

During the ceremony, District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst emphasised the great importance of in-house training and further education. “Well-trained staff are the be-all and end-all of a citizen-focused, results-oriented administration” and represent the key factor in the district’s success. The District Administrator’s congratulations to the successful candidates, accompanied by a small gift, were echoed by the Women’s Representative, the Staff Council, the Youth and Trainee Representatives, and the district’s training management team.
