Nature Conservation Advisory Board reorganises itself
They advise and support the lower-level nature conservation authorities on all matters relating to nature conservation: the district nature conservation advisory boards, which are to be established in accordance with the Hessian Nature Conservation Act. This nature conservation advisory board, comprising independent experts, also exists in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district. Its term of office corresponds to that of the district council, meaning that a new district nature conservation advisory board has now been formed following the 2026 local elections. District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst welcomed the members to the inaugural meeting at the district offices in Korbach and appointed them to their posts until 2031.
Nominations for membership of the District Nature Conservation Advisory Board could be submitted by recognised nature conservation organisations, such as the Naturschutzbund Deutschland e. V., as well as by administrative bodies, such as the Waldeck and Frankenberg District Farmers’ Associations. This has resulted in a twelve-member committee of expert conservationists and nine deputies. The Advisory Board is supplemented by a representative for the northern district and comprises representatives of the recognised nature conservation organisations
