The district council invites you to a sausage and ham tasting on 5 November

A very special culinary experience awaits food lovers on 5 November in the maize maze: the Waldeck-Frankenberg district is hosting an exclusive sausage and ham tasting at Lake Eder. Registrations are now open.

Tasting session with sausage and ham sommelier
This guided tasting focuses on the variety of regional specialities and the joy of sharing them. Under the expert guidance of certified sausage and ham sommelier Fritz Kästel from the Kohl-Kramer-Kästel butcher’s shop in Borken-Trockenerfurth, participants embark on a journey of culinary discovery. The expert provides a professional introduction to the secrets of sensory analysis, analysing the texture, degree of maturation and subtle flavours of sausages and ham, and explains how maturation, origin and traditional spices shape the flavour. He also reveals which culinary accompaniments pair perfectly with the individual specialities.

All ham and sausage fans are warmly invited to take part in the tasting, rate the samples and, at the end, choose their personal favourite of the evening. The event will take place on Thursday, 5 November from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Maislabyrinth on Lake Eder in Vöhl-Basdorf. The entry fee is 30 euros per person and includes water and two glasses of Pils; additional drinks will be charged separately.

Places are limited – registration is now open
As the number of participants for this event is limited, places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. It is therefore essential to register in good time; you can do so directly with the district authority by email or by telephone on 05631 954-1840. Further information can be found here.
